Rachel Kyle

Paralegal

Get to know me...

After having had a rather circuitous route into the legal profession, I feel that it is where I was always supposed to be. As an empathetic individual, I always wanted a role which was mentally challenging, yet allowed me to work with people who require support and guidance, often at difficult times in their lives.

I enjoy being able to use my linguistics skills and qualifications to communicate with clients in a clear and sympathetic manner. I have been told by previous clients that it is my human approach, patience, and ability to put complicated legal matters into plain English for them, that has given them the confidence to get their legal affairs in order.

My greatest achievement

When I started my graduate diploma, I had children aged 3 and 5, I was also pregnant with my 3rd child. I passed all my exams on the first take and have since gone on to have a successful career in law.

I also completed the ‘couch to 5k’ challenge. After always being picked last for netball at school, I think this was quite an achievement!

What I like about working for Goughs

Everyone at Goughs was instantly welcoming, warm and professional, allowing me to build an instant rapport with the team. I identify strongly with the firms’ core values and client care mission to become ‘trusted advisors’ as this reflects my own approach to clients. I like to take a very human and understanding approach and Goughs allows me the freedom to do so.
