Business set up - Your questions answered

The following list gives you an idea of the questions you should consider before incorporating a company:

  • A company name;
  • The registered address of the company;
  • How many shares are to be issued and to which shareholders;
  • Who is going to be directors of the company;
  • Will there be a company secretary; and
  • Do you need tailored articles of association or will your company adopt the model articles?

In a nutshell: all self-employed people are business owners, but not all business owners are self-employed.

There are many reasons people may choose to become a sole trader, or may choose to create a limited compnay or partnership.

As all situations are unique we would encourage you to get in touch with a specialist business set-up lawyer, who will provide advice tailored to you.
