The experienced and dedicated team of family lawyers has once again received exemplary feedback and accreditation. Dawn Moir

Partner (TEP)

Dawn joined in 2003 and became a partner in 2004. Whilst Dawn supports her team with all aspects of estate planning and estate administration, her particular areas of expertise are later life planning & support, and trust creation & administration, including all things tax.

Eleanor Wood

Senior Associate

Eleanor has invaluable experience in a wide range of children's matters, matrimonial matters (including divorce & separation), cohabitation agreements, pre & post nuptial agreements, and the division of matrimonial finances.

Matthew Drew

Managing Partner & Finance Partner

As an experienced lawyer in the Family Department, Matthew specialises in complex, high-value financial cases following on from divorce and separation. Matthew also has a great deal of experience in private law Children Act cases.

Phillip Bolton

Partner & Head of Private Wealth

Phillip is a Partner and Head of the Private Wealth Team at the firm. His practice encompasses all aspects of private client work, with a particular interest in complex Wills, wealth preservation, tax mitigation, and estate planning.

Emma Taylor

Partner & Head of Private Client

Emma began her life at Goughs in 2008 as a Solicitor. Now, with over 15 years of experience, she is a Partner and Head of the Private Client Department. Emma deals with all areas of Private Client work but has a particular interest in Trusts and Complex Property Ownership.

Thomas Boyce

Head of Family
Head of Farming & Rural Land

Thomas joined Goughs in April 2015, was made a Partner in 2016, and is Head of the Family department. He is an experienced family law specialist and advises a wide range of clients, both married and unmarried, on the implications of relationship breakdown.

Aimee Glover

Senior Associate

Aimee has been working in development land since 2011 and has acted for a number of national housebuilders. She joined the team in late 2020 and manages our Planning matters whilst also dealing with both strategic land and land acquisition.

Andrew Given

Partner and Head of Land & Development

Andrew has been head of the Land & Development team since 2014 and acts for SME Housebuilders, Land Promoters, and Landowners on all aspects of development land.

Ross Phillips


Ross thrives on obtaining favourable financial settlements for his clients and achieving a fair outcome for parents who may be having difficulties managing childrens’ arrangements with their ex-partners.
