Harriet Pestille

Trainee Solicitor

Get to know me...

I joined Goughs in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor.

Prior to Goughs, I worked as an Assistant Company Secretary for three years then completed the Graduate Diploma in Law before working as a Paralegal in both Education and Private Client whilst studying the Legal Practice Course on a part-time basis.

Having done my initial degree in History of Art, I switched to the legal sector because I enjoy providing solutions to problems and helping people in a practical way. Being a solicitor will enable me to do so in a professional capacity.

I am currently on my fourth seat in the Private Client department and I am excited to continue my professional and personal development with Goughs.

In my spare time I enjoy baking for friends and family, going to the gym and exploring the local area. My friendly cat Bruce also keeps me busy.

My greatest achievement

My greatest professional achievement is obtaining a training contract at Goughs; a firm for which I have wanted to work for many years.

My greatest personal achievement is buying my first home at the age of 22 by myself.

What I like about working for Goughs

I am passionate about the local area and was drawn to Goughs’ strong local base and excellent reputation. Goughs’ sector-based approach to client care allows us to provide overall holistic support to clients as well as meeting their specific needs which is also important to me.

The number of offices spread across Wiltshire means I will be exposed to a variety of different places, specialisms and teams in my training contract which I believe is essential for my professional development. It also shows that Goughs has a strong foundation in the area but maintains a small and close-knit familial feel which is important as we continue maintaining solid relationships as trusted advisers to our clients.
