Get to know me

I applied for the solicitor apprenticeship programme at Goughs in 2022. Growing up locally, I had always been aware of the firm, and its Dementia Friends status particularly resonated with me, as dementia is a subject close to home. I was keen to join a firm whose values genuinely reflect care, understanding and support for clients and their families. I was also looking for a role that was both challenging and client-facing, so I was delighted to be offered the opportunity at Goughs, especially given the firm’s breadth of expertise across a wide range of specialisms.

Being part of the apprenticeship scheme has allowed me to gain valuable, hands-on experience working directly with clients whilst studying towards my degree. I am friendly, approachable and naturally empathetic, qualities that are especially important in Private Client work, where matters can often be sensitive and emotional. My goal is to provide a supportive and trustworthy environment where clients feel at ease with during what can be a difficult time. Outside of work, I am deeply involved in musical theatre, which has been part of my life since childhood. Singing and performing is both my passion and my way to unwind, and I believe my experience performing has helped me thrive in law, particularly in working under pressure, adapting quickly, and building strong connections with clients.

My greatest achievement

My greatest personal achievement is receiving an award at the House of Commons for excellence in musical theatre which was a proud and memorable moment for me.

Professionally, my greatest achievement so far has been securing a place on the solicitor apprenticeship programme and progressing to becoming a trainee, which reflects both my commitment to the profession and the hard work I’ve put into my development.

What I like about working for Goughs

I’ve been with Goughs for three years and a half years and during that time the firm has consistently developed and broadened its ideas while staying aligned with modern legal practice. We’re always looking at new strategies and ways to improve, which makes the work interesting and forward-thinking. At the same time, Goughs has strong recognition through Chambers and Legal 500, while remaining a respected high-street firm that’s genuinely engaged with the local community. It’s rewarding to work for a firm that combines professional excellence with a strong local presence and reputation.
