Get to know me...

I started off my career path in the Womens Royal Naval Service (WRNS) part of the Royal Navy and served for eight years mostly in the UK with a three year stint in Naples. On leaving the WRNS, I settled in Bristol and worked as a secretary at Osborne Clarke, where the opportunity to undertake CILEX qualifications became an option. After partly qualifying in 2000, I headed up a small team of paralegals to undertake most of the Western Power Distribution commercial property work, until I joined Orange, as a Legal Assistant to deal with the transactional legal work for the infrastructure roll out of what was then, 2G-3G. After qualifying in 2006 and leaving Orange in 2007, I joined the Ministry of Defence as an in-house lawyer and provided a broad spectrum of commercial property advice across the Estate, which incidentally comprises approximately 1% of the UK land mass, kept me and my colleagues extremely busy! In 2022, I decided to take on a new challenge of going into private practice and joined Clarke Willmott as a Senior Associate in the Commercial Property team, to deal solely with telecom leases for landowners and all aspects of telecom transactions. After spending a year there, I worked for a short time at Mogers Drewett, predominantly dealing mainly with leasehold transactions.

To me, clients are the most important part of my job. ‘One size certainly does not fit all’ in this industry and It is most important to grasp at the earliest stage, their specific needs, whether they be individual or at a corporate level and to tailor your advice accordingly, navigating them safely through any complex issues.

I have the advantage of having worked in-house and in private practice for both private clients and for central government, which has enabled me to anticipate some of the issues that clients are likely to come up against during a matter.
