Our Dispute Resolution and Litigation team forms part of our multi-disciplined Commercial department who offer high quality legal services to businesses and individuals throughout the West and beyond. The Commercial department currently comprises of 15 lawyers, including a Professional Support Lawyer, and six support staff.
Due to its success the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team, along with the firm’s Commercial lawyers , has moved to new office premises on the outskirts of Chippenham to enable it to continue to progress and expand. The new premises are less than a mile from the train station which is on the Bristol to Paddington mainline and only three miles from junction 17 of the M4.

Due to continued expansion we are looking to recruit a Solicitor to the team which currently comprises four lawyers ranging from Trainee to Equity Partner.
You will be required to work with the existing successful team to continue to develop the work, client base and contentious specialisms within the team as well as service and support the Firm's existing established client base.
You will have the opportunity to work one on one with our marketing team to create bespoke marketing campaigns and have the autonomy to utilise all marketing and social media opportunities to establish a personal and team face and brand.
Growth is certainly a buzz word for Goughs and the Commercial department and this role is no exception. The opportunity for further expansion is through the training and support of our trainees and part of this role will be to support their development.

Salary and benefits

It is essential that you have strong previous experience in Civil and Commercial Litigation and a basic knowledge of Insolvency Law, Planning Law, Professional Negligence general tortious claims and Contentious Probate is desirable but not essential.
We are looking for an individual who has a professional approach with good client handling and care skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must have.
