Goughs Solicitors nominates Alzheimer’s Support for their Charity of the Year 2019

One of Wiltshire’s leading law firms, Goughs Solicitors, is delighted to announce that its charity of the year for 2019 is Alzheimer’s Support.

Alzheimer’s Support is an award-winning local charity, whose head office is in Trowbridge, which exists to improve the quality of life of families who are affected by dementia in Wiltshire.

Every year Goughs considers a number of extremely worthwhile local charities and this year Alzheimer’s Support was chosen because of the support they provide to people who are living with dementia in their own homes.

The truly person centred care the charity offers provides people living with dementia the opportunity to maintain as much independence and control over their lives as possible. Their services include inspirational day clubs, a carefully customised support at home service and a growing range of activity groups.

Goughs has pledged to hold a variety of fundraising activities throughout 2019 to raise essential funds, including participation in the Goughs challenge, running office tuck shops, bake sales, dress down days and fees for signing of documents will also go towards the charity.

Emma Taylor, a Partner at Goughs who oversaw the charity of the year selection process, commented: “There really are so many incredible charities out there that the most difficult part of the entire process is restricting our selection to just one.

However, we were all so touched by the level of personal care and attention Alzheimer’s Support offers that we really want to help them make a real difference to so many people throughout Wiltshire”.

Babs Harris, CEO of Alzheimer’s Support, said “We really value the partnerships we make with well known and well respected firms like Goughs.  To be nominated as their charity of the year will make a real difference to our fund raising this year.

We truly believe that with the right support it is possible for the individual and their families to live well with dementia and this extra funding will help make this a reality for so many in Wiltshire.”
