The Role

We are excited to have a role available to join our Family department based at one of our Wiltshire offices.

The role will allow you hone and develop your skills as a successful lawyer. You will take on an already existing caseload of varied work but be given plenty of opportunities to grow the client base and workload, through various networking and business development activities that suit your skill set and strengths.

You will get the chance to become highly skilled in various methods of dispute resolution. With the support of others within department you will be encouraged to carry out your own advocacy.

There will be plenty of opportunities to broaden your role and contribute to the department by participating in marketing activities, supporting junior members of the team and being part of one of our Specialisms. For a long time the department has worked with victims of domestic abuse and to further our support and commitment, we now have a specialised Domestic Violence Team.

The Department

Our Family department has extensive experience in handling all manner of family law matters. We provide our clients with specialist advice related to separation and divorce, children matters, finance and pensions, domestic abuse, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

We are proud that once again the Family department has been ranked as a Band 1 team in Chambers and Partners 2024, putting them alongside some of the leading family teams in the country, not just the southwest. The department’s lawyers are recognised for their high level of knowledge and exceptional client care. We are also delighted that the department has been listed again in The Legal 500 guide.

The department itself currently houses 14 lawyers, ranging from Trainee Solicitor to Partner, along with 8 support team members across six of our offices.

Your Experience & Qualifications

You will need to have experience of Family law dealing with all aspects of divorce, separation, financial settlements, children matters, injunctions and pre/post-nuptial agreements. Excellent client care and negotiating skills will also be required.
