Prioritising work-life balance
At Goughs, we believe that enjoying your work and maintaining a healthy work-life balance go hand in hand. We are committed to supporting our people and welcome conversations around flexible working arrangements to help achieve that balance.
Enjoy a rewarding career in a supportive environment
We value collaboration and connection across the firm, bringing colleagues together regularly through our social and charity committees. These initiatives help foster relationships across offices and departments while supporting causes that matter to us.
One of the highlights of our year is the annual firm-wide away day, where colleagues from across the business come together to strengthen relationships, celebrate successes and enjoy a well-deserved day of team-building and fun.
Our seven offices are based in beautiful Wiltshire locations, offering a wonderful setting in which to work. Whether it’s enjoying a scenic lunchtime walk or making the most of the surrounding countryside, there are plenty of opportunities to step away from your desk and recharge.
Wiltshire also benefits from excellent transport connections. With easy access to the M4 motorway, Bristol, Swindon and London are all within convenient reach. Strong rail links mean Bath can be reached in as little as 15 minutes, while London is approximately an hour away by train.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
A warm welcome from day one
Starting a new role is an important milestone, and we’re dedicated to making your transition into Goughs as smooth and supportive as possible. Our comprehensive induction programme is designed to help you settle in quickly and confidently.
During your first week, you’ll receive essential training to familiarise yourself with the firm and our systems. Your induction will begin with dedicated sessions led by our IT Trainer, followed by time with our Accounts team to gain an understanding of our financial systems and processes. You’ll also receive training from our Risk & Compliance team, alongside a formal HR induction.
Once you’ve completed your initial onboarding, you’ll move on to role-specific training delivered by colleagues within your office and department. To help you settle in, you’ll be paired with both an office buddy and a departmental buddy, providing guidance, support and a friendly face as you navigate your new role.
Throughout your first six months, you’ll have regular check-ins with your line manager and a member of the HR team to ensure you’re settling in well and have the support you need to succeed.
We also bring new starters together from across the firm for a lunch hosted by one of our Equity Partners. This informal gathering is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from different teams and offices, learn more about the firm’s history and future direction, and build connections in a relaxed setting.
