By making a Will, you can ensure that any specific intentions you have for your home, money or possessions are carried out efficiently and in accordance with your wishes, avoiding unnecessary difficulties for grieving family and friends. Making a Will will also help you plan effectively for the future, highlighting possible additional planning relating to areas such as Inheritance Tax Planning.
Often people believe that making a Will is complicated and expensive. Nothing could be further from the truth. Making a Will at Goughs is simple and our friendly experienced team are here to help you.
Preparing a Lasting Power of Attorney
As we get older, dealing with financial matters can become a burden; many of our clients turn to family for support, but sometimes a longer term solution is needed. This is where appointing an Attorney can be a beneficial solution
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document which enables your appointed attorney, a friend, family member or professional advisor such as a Solicitor, to act on your behalf, dealing with a range of affairs including; your property, finances and health care arrangements.
To set up an LPA it is essential that you receive legal advice. As you would expect in such a delicate area of law there is a large amount of red tape surrounding LPAs, but our team are well versed and able to support you in completing the appropriate paperwork and explaining the various stages and legal jargon.
Probate Support
Losing a relative or a close friend is always going to be a difficult time and having the responsibility for the administration of their estate can be daunting.
At Goughs our experienced legal team is here to offer a helping hand, whether you need initial advice, assistance with a difficult stage or for someone to take responsibility for the whole probate process.
We like to keep our fee structure fair and simple, so unlike some other firms, we don’t charge a percentage of the estate, our charges are simply based on an hourly rate and the amount of work we actually do.
