Peter read law at the University of Wales before completing his training with a large city practice in Bristol. In 1979, Peter joined Goughs where he subsequently became a Partner. As a senior member of the Family Department, Peter specialises in complex and high value ancillary relief cases following on from divorce and separation. He has a wide range of experience in dealing with all aspects of the breakdown of relationships, including domestic violence injunctions and cases involving children.
Peter is a trained mediator and a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association). Peter also recently qualified as a collaborative lawyer, which enables him to pursue the collaborative law approach of formally resolving disputes between parties by round the table negotiations, rather than through court.
As a Partner, Peter is responsible for updating the Welfare Benefits knowledge of his colleagues in the Family Department. Outside work, he is Vice President of the Bath Old Edwardians RFC and a member of Bath Rugby FC.
