Jo studied for her law degree at Hull University, before completing the Law Society Finals at the Chester College of Law. Having completed her training with a practice in Stroud, Jo was admitted as solicitor in September 1994. In 1995 Jo then joined Goughs and became a Partner of the firm in 1999.
A senior member of the Family Law Department and has expertise in all areas of law relating to the breakdown of marriages and the separation of non-married partners. Jo deals with ancillary relief cases (including high net worth cases) and cases involving children.
Jo is also a member of Resolution, a group committed to resolving family disputes in as non-confrontational manner as possible. She is a fully qualified Collaborative Lawyer, enabling her to pursue the collaborative law approach, which attempts to resolve disputes between parties by round the table negotiations, rather than court proceedings.
Away from the office, Jo is a Trustee and Director of Carers’ Support Kennet (formerly Kennet Carers’ Association). She is also a Governor of a primary school near Salisbury.
