Jonathan studied for his Law degree at the London School of Economics and, after qualifying as a solicitor, worked in the West End of London. Jonathan joined Goughs in 1986 and was made a Partner in 1987. During this time, Jonathan has acquired an enormous amount of expertise in dealing with civil litigation and family cases and this led to him sitting as a Deputy District Judge for some seven years.
As a senior member of Goughs Family Department Jonathan specialises in high value ancillary relief cases following on from the breakdown of a marriage. Jonathan also assists the Civil Litigation Department with cases involving disputes over the ownership of property, following the breakdown of a relationship.
Jonathan is a fully qualified collaborative lawyer; this enables him to pursue the collaborative law approach to ancillary relief cases, which attempts to resolve disputes between the parties by round the table negotiations, rather than court proceedings. Further to this, Jonathan works in cases that relate to Wills and Estates.
Away from the office Jonathan is a keen supporter of Bath Rugby Club.
